The ancient city of Inca Raccay, located high up in the Andes of Peru, was inked to Choquequirao during Inca times. Almost no one visits this magnificent and historic remote Inca archaeological site located 10 km/ 6.25 from Cachora, which can be easily done in one day.
On our trip to Inca Raccay you will enjoy stunning views of Apurimac canyon and Choquequirao from a distance. Along the trail to Inca Raccay there are Quechua families farming potatoes, lima beans, quinoa and many varieties of corn. With a little of luck, we will see the majestic Andean condor, very common to see in the afternoon flying along the canyon walls. We will have plenty of time to explore the site and enjoy our picnic.
Later in the afternoon we will take the way back home in our saddle horses.
