On our 5 days trek, you will enjoy the beauty of the Peruvian Andes with the ultimate archeological destination: the royal Inca city of Choquequirao, one of the most remote and least visited Inca sites. You will hike down and up the Apurimac River valley taking in dramatic views of the canyon flanked by snow-capped mountains on the horizon. There is a wide variety of flora and fauna as you change elevations, and if you’re lucky you will see condors and spectacled bear.
You will have a full day to explore Choquequirao, the unforgettable lost city of the last Inca king, noblemen and clergy. On this trek we organize lodging and food along the trail, you do not need to bring camping equipment , only your day pack and overnight gear which will be transported by mule. You will stay with host families, in a bed every night, and experience Quechua culture up close. In traveling with the Choquequirao Guest House, the trek will not be as difficult as people carrying their own backpacks loaded with gear, this new option makes the trek much easier and fun. Plus, you will have many interactions with people from small Quechua villages. The 5 days trek includes transportation from Cusco to Cachora but if you want to arrive in Cachora on your own that is okay, we are highly flexible with all our tours and treks.
